Phil takes a collaborative, trauma-informed, and non-judgemental approach to therapy, aiming to support people in living lives of richness, meaning, and growth. His work is guided by Process-Based Therapy (PBT), an integrative model that tailors treatment to your unique context—considering your present concerns, past experiences, and future goals.
In the early stages of therapy, Phil works with clients to develop a visual ‘map’ of the biopsychosocial systems contributing to their challenges. Therapy then focuses on building a personalised action plan to create meaningful and sustainable change.
Phil integrates a wide range of evidence-based therapies, including:
-
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I)
-
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
-
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
He also supports clients navigating insurance systems such as WorkCover, Comcare, and TAC, working collaboratively with GPs and other providers to meet reporting requirements and ease the administrative burden on clients.
**Psychology sessions for insomnia are eligible under Medicare Mental Health Treatment Plans, even if no other mental health conditions are present.
**Phil works with clients aged 17 years and older.
